Sandhills Broadens Global Exposure With Acquisition Of Farm & Plant Buyer’s Guide

MANCHESTER, United Kingdom — November 1, 2016

Sandhills East has acquired Farm & Plant Buyer’s Guide, Ireland’s leading agricultural magazine and website for buyers and sellers of plant, machinery, and all related equipment. As a global leader in the agriculture, transportation, construction, heavy machinery, aviation, and technology industries, the acquisition allows Sandhills to further expand into Ireland and continue to serve buyers and sellers in local markets and beyond.

Since its establishment in 2003, Farm & Plant Buyer’s Guide has become Ireland’s premier resource for buying and selling agriculture equipment. The acquisition will link the success of two key market leaders, allowing buyers greater access to equipment for sale and sellers broader exposure to active buyers in the market for their equipment. The Farm & Plant Buyer’s Guide will fully integrate into the publications provided by Sandhills East and Sandhills Publishing, the distribution of which often exceeds 5 million publications every month. Additionally, the acquisition results in linking the www.farmandplant.ie website to the network of successful trade sites provided by Sandhills Publishing and Sandhills East, which receive more than 16 million monthly visits.

Sandhills Publishing has nearly 800 employees and is based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Its first publication, Machinery Trader, rolled of the presses in March of 1978, bringing together buyers and sellers in the heavy construction equipment industry. Since then, the company has added publications reaching the trucking (Truck Paper), aviation (Controller, Executive Controller, and Charter Hub), technology (Computer Power User and CyberTrend), farm equipment (TractorHouse), auction (AuctionTime), and equipment rental (RentalYard) industries, as well as buyers and sellers in international markets (MarketBook).

Sandhills East, the company’s United Kingdom-based subsidiary, was established in 2011, quickly expanding to include office locations in Manchester and Peterborough, United Kingdom; Madrid, Spain; and Senningerberg, Luxembourg. The company also has offices in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Brisbane, Australia.
