The Maintenance position is responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of Sandhills Publishing facilities. Duties include performing minor repairs to furniture and equipment, moving furniture and equipment, ensuring maintenance schedules are followed, and monitoring mechanical, electrical, and ventilation systems. The types of equipment to be maintained includes a geothermal heat pump system, chiller with water cooling tower, roof top air handling units, exhaust fans, boilers. Seasonal duties include snow removal and grounds keeping responsibilities. This includes lawn mower, tractor, snow blower and power tool operation. Will also work with outside contractors for inspections and large projects. Responding in a prompt, professional manner to employee needs and concerns is an important aspect of this position. Assume other duties as assigned.

The Part-Time Printing Mechanical Technician will have a hands-on opportunity to learn all aspects of the Production Department. This includes exposure to press, bindery, and plate output systems as well as maintenance of equipment. Specific duties may include shadowing press and bindery technicians in troubleshooting mechanical problems. This includes pinpointing the actual problem, determining the best approach to fix the problem, and finally replacing or repairing the mechanical problem. The Technician will perform the day to day tasks of printing and binding of the publications as well as the scheduled maintenance of the equipment. The Part-Time Printing Mechanical Technician could also have special projects assigned to them. Responsibilities will vary day to day. Assume other duties as assigned.
